The Seafoam Socks are supposed to be your buddy on camping trips, or on these chilly walks in the mountains or by the sea. By the Baltic Sea, even in summer the evenings can be quite chilly!
The socks feature ribbing on the cuff, back of leg and heel and a textured ridge pattern on the front of leg and instep, and they have a cozy and classic feel, so you can be sure to wear them regardless of the current trends!

The socks are worked cuff down, with a heel flap and gusset construction. Combining a well-known construction and easy ribbing stitch together with a more focus-requiring ridge stitch make it an interesting pattern to work through. While ridge stitch requires extra attention at the beginning, the included video tutorial for the stitch makes it easy to get a hang of it and get into the rhythm.
For this design I was really happy to team up with The Fibre Co and use their Amble yarn - which is a blend of merino, alpaca and recycled (!) nylon. It's machine-washable due to specific 'eco easy-wash' process - whic, unlike 'superwash', uses eco-friendly substances, which have much less impact on the environment. Such environmental factors are definitely a big plus - and I'm also happy to see a 'Fair Trade' stamp on the label - which basically means, that people involved in cretaion of this yarn are paid fair wages and aren't exploited!
I knit my sock pair in colorway Chalk Cliffs - which is a beautiful, light shade of grey - very versatile and classic-looking!
